The Pakistan tour of New Zealand got green signal without the ODI series and will play three T20s and two Test matches amid the bio-secure environment.     PAK vs NZ Series – 2020 Coverage

    The Pakistan tour of New Zealand is finally confirmed by Pakistan Cricket Board after hosting Zimbabwe at home earlier. The Pakistan vs New Zealand series is a bilateral series that was initially scheduled much earlier but has been delayed till later this year due to the pandemic.

    In 2020-21, both teams will play three T20 matches followed by two Tests in New Zealand. The initial plan was to skip the ODIs in order to prepare for the T20 World Cup that was to be held in Australia later this year. Pakistan will also play Ireland and Netherlands during this tour.

    There are a total of 5 matches including 3 T20s and 2 T20s (and no ODIs) to be played during Pakistan tour of New Zealand. The PAK-NZ bilateral series is a part of the Future Cricket Tour Programs (FTP) which has been prepared by the International Cricket Council (ICC), PCB and NZ Cricket Board.

    Pakistan Tour of New Zealand 2020

    Pakistan will be flying to New Zealand by the end of the year to play a 2 match Test series and a 3 Match 3 T20I series Pakistan have performed well in their outing to New Zealand winning 10 test matches and 5 T20I matches. New Zealand Cricket is excited about the resumption of the Gentlemen game at their backyard by mid-November as they are busy working with officials on Creating a bio-secure Environment. They are taking all the necessary measures for the health safety that will need to be in place for the visiting sides. The touring party currently have to undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine period after landing in New Zealand

    The ICC World Test Championship and ICC World Super league were Introduced in order to bring relevance to bilateral cricket. In Test Championship The nine top-ranked teams in the world will compete in the tournament, with each side playing 6 Home & away series against mutually selected opposition in two years period. The top two sides will then play in the ICC World Test Championship final. The Tests series against Pakistan are part of the World Test Championship.

    The first Test match between Pakistan and New Zealand was played on Oct 13-17, 1955 in Karachi which Pakistan won comprehensively by an innings and 1 run.
